Hancox Oast Pool
The simple form and materials of the enclosing walls alludes to a walled garden or traditional farmyard enclosure sitting sympathetically within the High Weald (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) landscape with agricultural and rural domestic buildings nearby. The distant views from the south towards the Oast are enhanced by the removal of an existing outdoor swimming pool and the new pool and surround nestling into the topography. The undulating field level will be adjusted to bank up against the wall to further reduce its apparent height and impact. Stephen Coleman Architect carried out this project.
